In Beijing you can enjoy fantastic The Legend of Kung Fu presented by China Heaven Creation International Performing Arts Co., Ltd. ( CHC)-- China's leading performance art production company. This newly-produced show is put on in the Red Theater located on the east of Tiantan Hotel in Xing Fu Dajie, Chongwen. CHC has collected a group of the best Kung Fu practitioners of China and invited the best directors and designers of the country. The show is a must-see production in Beijing for tourists and Kung Fu lovers.

The Legend of Kung Fu focuses on a young boy found wondering outside an ancient temple somewhere in China. He dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master. But things don’t go smoothly according to his plan. The young monk is called Chun Yi (the pure one) has to overcome many difficulties and temptations before he conquers and finally gets his sacred goal of enlightenment.

Many places of the show are presented like a dream in appearance. In the show you can find the flying fairy created in Chun Yi's mind and brimstone of the blacksmiths workshop, where the tools and armor are made. The ceiling of the theatre lights up like the night sky with twinkling stars. The main innovation in this show is the blend of the different parts of performance art. The modern dancers have mixed elements of Kung Fu into their performance and the Kung Fu performers have adopted some of the modern dance actions.

The management and production team have been looking for the best performers all over China. You can find their hard work on the stage. The average age of the performers is only 17 years, but their performance tells that they are excellent!

Invited by Canada's most experienced cultural brokers, John Cripton of Great World Artists, ‘Chun Yi: The Legend of Kung Fu’ had its first North America tour from August 2005 to January 2006. During the time, it played 150 performances in Vancouver, Toronto, Reno and other North American cities and won enormous audience admiration. A second full company was created to meet the numerous requests for touring demands.

In 2005, the show has been designated into ‘the National Instructional Index for Commercial Cultural Products of Performing Arts and Exhibitions of the Year’ by the Ministry of Culture of China.

Recently ‘Chun Yi: The Legend of Kung Fu’ has completed its latest artistic adjustments, of which the company is now actively preparing for a second North American tour in the coming autumn. Meanwhile in the Beijing Red Theatre, the show has just accomplished 700 performances and keeps its usual popularity with a 98%-full house every evening.
